President-elect Donald Trump called on his supporters to contribute to the Democratic Party in order to alleviate their “financial strain” following the general elections. In a post on social media, Trump expressed his astonishment at the Democrats’ lack of surplus funds. “Currently, they are facing pressure from vendors and others,” he remarked, referencing reports that the Harris Campaign is burdened with a debt of USD 20 million.
“According to two sources familiar with the matter, Kamala Harris’s campaign concluded with a debt of at least USD 20 million. Despite raising over USD 1 billion, Harris had USD 118 million in her account as of October 16,” reported Christopher Cadelago, the California bureau chief for Politico.
“I am quite surprised that the Democrats, who engaged in a vigorous and commendable battle during the 2020 Presidential Election and raised a record sum of money, do not have a significant amount of funds remaining. They are now under pressure from vendors and others,” he stated. “I strongly recommend that we, as a Party, do whatever we can to assist them during this challenging time, for the sake of the much-needed UNITY. We still have substantial funds available, as our greatest asset in the campaign was ‘Earned Media,’ which incurs minimal costs. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump concluded.
