In Maharashtra, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and rival Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) will hold their respective Dussehra rallies in Mumbai on Saturday. Before the Maharashtra Assembly elections, both parties will show their strength by attacking each other.
Dussehra is a very special festival in the politics of Maharashtra, in fact, the head of the undivided Shiv Sena, Balasaheb Thackeray, used to address the public at the historic Shivaji Park on the occasion of Dussehra every year. But after the division of Shiv Sena, the importance of this Dussehra has become more due to the elections to be held this year. Because terror rallies will be organized by both the Shiv Sena factions and this will try hard to make the election atmosphere in the state in their favor.
On the one hand, the Shiv Sena (UBT) will hold its rally at the historic Shivaji Park in Dadar, while on the other, its chief and state Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will address his faction at Azad Maidan in south Mumbai. However, heavy rains over the past few days have caused waterlogging in several parts of the state. But Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said it will not make any difference.
At the same time, Shiv Sena leader and former MP Rahul Shewale said that about 2 lakh people are expected to attend the rally to be held at Azad Maidan to hear CM Eknath. Transport sources said the Sena, led by Shinde, has booked 3,000 private buses to ferry its workers to the venue. Sources said the Shinde group has booked 3,000 buses, of which around 750 are coming from Nashik in north Maharashtra.
Ahead of the Dussehra rallies, both the Shiv Sena sides have also released teasers. The teaser of the Eknath Shinde-led faction shows a tiger, with Sena written on it, being deceived by the Congress by tying it with a rope. The animation used in this teaser shows CM Shinde emerging and cutting the rope with an arrow.
In its teaser, the Shiv Sena (UBT) talks about saving Maharashtra’s pride and burying traitors, a reference to the MLAs who rebelled against Uddhav Thackeray. During this rally, Uddhav Thackeray, who blames the BJP for splitting his party, is also expected to attack his former ally.
