An Army personnel sustained injuries on Sunday during a confrontation with terrorists in a secluded forest region of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials. The clash erupted in the Keshwan forests when joint search teams from the Army and police engaged with the terrorists, who were hiding, around 11 am.
Officials indicated that the operation in the Kuntwara and Keshwan forests had been ongoing since Thursday evening, following the deaths of two village defense guards.
“An encounter has commenced at Keswan-Kishtwar involving terrorists and security forces. It is believed that three or four terrorists are cornered,” stated a police spokesperson.
The official further noted that this group of terrorists was responsible for the killings of the two innocent villagers.
A significant exchange of gunfire is currently taking place between the opposing forces, and additional information is pending, according to the officials.
