Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to his “friend” Donald Trump on Wednesday, commending him for his “historic” victory in the presidential elections. He expressed anticipation for the opportunity to revitalize their partnership in order to enhance the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership.
Former US President Trump appeared to be on track for a remarkable return to the White House, marking one of the most significant political comebacks in American history. Projections indicated that Trump was poised to secure 270 electoral college votes, effectively thwarting Democratic candidate Kamala Harris’ prospects in the election.
I extend my warmest congratulations to you, my friend @realDonaldTrump, on your remarkable election victory. As you continue to build upon the achievements of your prior term, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to renew our partnership in order to enhance the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership, Modi expressed in a post on X.
“Let us collaborate for the advancement of our citizens and to foster global peace, stability, and prosperity,” he added.
The Prime Minister also shared images from his earlier meetings with Trump, who served as the US president from 2016 to 2020.
